Fast sizing & placement (rules of thumb)

• Chandelier over seating area: add room length + width (ft) to estimate diameter (in). Keep ~7 ft (84 in) clearance to the lowest point.
• Pendants (reading corners / symmetry): bottom ~60–66 in from floor, or just below eye level when seated.
• Sconces: center ~60–66 in from floor; space ~6–10 ft apart depending on output and wall length.
• Ceilings under 8.5 ft: choose flush or semi-flush to maintain head clearance.

Light quality & controls

• Color: choose 2700–3000K LEDs with CRI 90+ for natural skin tones and true finishes.
• Dimming: use compatible dimmers; set low-end trim to prevent flicker and dial in evening ambiance.
• Glare control: fabric/opal shades and diffusers keep light comfortable at seated eye level.

Designer tip: Repeat one finish (e.g., warm brass) and one material (linen, glass, or wood) at least twice for cohesion.
