Make the Table the Moment
From round chandeliers to linear pendants and picture-perfect wall lights, our dining picks balance proportion, glare control, and warm color so food, finishes, and faces look their best.
Fast sizing guides (industry rules of thumb)
- Over a table (round chandelier): fixture diameter ≈ ½–⅔ of table width. Leave ~6–12 in clearance from table edges.
- Linear chandelier length: ≈ ½–¾ of table length; keep ~6–12 in from each end of the tabletop.
- Hanging height: bottom of the fixture ~30–34 in above tabletop (add ~3 in for each foot over 8 ft ceilings).
- Two/three pendants: keep ~24–30 in edge-to-edge between shades; each pendant ≈ ¼–⅓ of table width.
- Not over a table (room center): room length + width (ft) ≈ chandelier diameter (in).
Light quality & controls
- Color & clarity: choose 2700–3000K LEDs with CRI 90+ for flattering skin tones and food.
- Dimming: use a compatible dimmer; set low-end trim to avoid flicker and dial in ambiance.
- Glare control: opal/linen shades or diffusers keep light soft at seated eye level.
Designer tip: Repeat one finish (e.g., warm brass) and one material (linen, glass, or wood) at least twice for a pulled-together room.
