Bedroom
Light for Rest, Reading, and Routine
From fabric-shade chandeliers to plug-in bedside sconces and low-profile ceiling lights, our bedroom picks favor warm color, smooth dimming, and silhouettes that feel collected—not cluttered.
What works best (rules of thumb)
- Ceiling fixture clearance: keep ~7 ft (84 in) from floor to the lowest point. For low ceilings, choose flush or semi-flush.
- Chandelier sizing: add room length + width (ft) to estimate diameter (in). Example: 12×14 ft → ~26 in wide.
- Bedside sconces: center ~60–66 in from floor and ~6–10 in to the side of the headboard edge; align with eye level when seated.
- Bedside pendants: hang ~28–34 in above the nightstand surface (or keep the bottom just below eye level when seated).
- Switching & dimming: add dimmers and, if possible, three-way/dual control at the door and bedside.
Light quality: choose 2700–3000K bulbs with CRI 90+ for restful warmth and accurate color. Aim for layered control: ceiling + task (bedside) + accent.
