Meet Our Product Designers

Senior Product Designer

Teddy Feracho – Sr. Product Designer

Meet Golden Lighting’s Senior Product Designer, Teddy Feracho. Born in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Teddy always had a passion for art. The eldest of 8 kids, he credits his parents, teachers, and mentors with supporting his dreams of becoming a designer.

After graduating from High School, he left home to further his education at the Columbus College of Art and Design where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design. During his studies, he attended a presentation on Industrial Design where the speaker addressed the audience about the possibility of designing the world around them, creating something from the start, and being able to enjoy/use the final product. This idea struck a chord with Teddy. He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from The University of Ohio State.

Teddy has been a lead designer with Golden Lighting since 2012. His creativity has led to many popular fixture designs, including the cherry blossom-inspired Aiyana, Ella series, countless others. He has created award-nominated designs like the industrial style Whitaker and Atom collection. Teddy loves working with natural materials and jewelry is often his inspiration.

Golden Lighting has allowed Teddy to try new things. He says, “Sometimes different doesn’t always equal a great seller, but it allows you the opportunity to test the market as you look to create the next bestseller.” Teddy believes that “The key to success in product design is recognizing and being open to all possibilities. You have to trust in the process and know that the concept will develop and evolve into something better than you imagined when it began.” Teddy says that his goal is always to create memorable lights that homeowners will fall in love with and enjoy for years.

Junior Product Designer

Christa Pineda – Jr. Product Designer

Christa hails from St. Augustine, Florida and is a recent graduate of FSU’s Interior Architecture and Design Program. With a deep passion for art and design, she started drawing and painting at a young age. This later grew into a love for rearranging, refurbishing, and styling spaces. She began her career in architectural design before becoming a design consultant.

Here at Golden, Christa has shifted to product design, designing lighting collections worthy of gracing beautiful spaces. Christa is inspired by all forms of art, nature, and travel. For now, she draws inspiration from natural materials and earthy tones.

Like many designers, Christa can’t put her finger on her favorite decor styles. There are just so many! If she had to choose, she says it’s a toss-up between Transitional, Eclectic, and Minimalist styles.

Christa loves finding new materials to incorporate as well as sketching innovative designs. She draws inspiration from her travels, thrifts for fun, and enjoys antiquing. “I always loved making and creating things. I am drawn to art in all forms. I love designing. I want to leave behind something that wasn’t there before.” She explains the key to successful design as, “…Creating something new and original that can be used in several spaces or ways.”
