Meet Our Product Designer
Teddy Feracho – Sr. Product Designer
Meet Golden Lighting’s Senior Product Designer, Teddy Feracho. Born in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Teddy always had a passion for art. The eldest of 8 kids, he credits his parents, teachers, and mentors with supporting his dreams of becoming a designer.
After graduating from High School, he left home to further his education at the Columbus College of Art and Design where he obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Industrial Design. During his studies, he attended a presentation on Industrial Design where the speaker addressed the audience about the possibility of designing the world around them, creating something from the start, and being able to enjoy/use the final product. This idea struck a chord with Teddy. He went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communications from The Ohio State University.
Teddy has been a lead designer with Golden Lighting since 2012. His creativity has led to many popular fixture designs, including the cherry blossom-inspired Aiyana, Ella series, countless others. He has created award-nominated designs like the industrial style Whitaker and Atom collection. Teddy loves working with natural materials and jewelry is often his inspiration.
Golden Lighting has allowed Teddy to try new things. He says, “Sometimes different doesn’t always equal a great seller, but it allows you the opportunity to test the market as you look to create the next bestseller.” Teddy believes that “The key to success in product design is recognizing and being open to all possibilities. You have to trust in the process and know that the concept will develop and evolve into something better than you imagined when it began.” Teddy says that his goal is always to create memorable lights that homeowners will fall in love with and enjoy for years.
